You thought #CyberFest was all over, didn’t you? Well at least for this year, yet I promised you eleven events and the eagle eyed among you will know that we only had ten events in September. The final event, which was originally supposed to be held during September, is a Cyber 101 Boot Camp. For various reasons, mostly logistical, this is now going to be held at the back end of November at Muckle LLP in Gallowgate, Newcastle.
What’s it all about then? Cyber 101 is a DCMS-funded national programme aimed to grow the UK’s cyber security sector. The programme offers intensive one-day Bootcamps, Deep Dive sessions and Demo Days that will enable early stage cyber security businesses to grow and gain access to potential customers and investors. Cyber 101 is delivered by Digital Catapult in partnership with The Accelerator Network, Inogesis, and The Centre for Secure Information Technologies (CSIT).
The Bootcamp will help you sharpen your business skills through peer-to-peer learning and expert advice. It will include 2-to-1 mentoring sessions that provide bespoke guidance and help build lasting connections.
Whilst we, as a region, have a good number of cyber security businesses we can always do with more, especially those with innovative ideas and products around software and hardware. New businesses are an essential ingredient in a healthy cyber security ecosystem and will go on to either build a sustainable company or develop people to work in other cyber security enterprises.
Whether you are on the verge of creating a cyber security business, an established cyber security startup looking to refine your proposition or a mature company seeking feedback and advice on your business, you are welcome to take part in Cyber 101 Bootcamp.
