#CyberFest 21 -Why you should go to Building a Cyber Security Business

Have you ever thought about running your own business? Perhaps you are a student, sitting in lectures or tutorials with some great idea for a new product whirling about in your head. Perhaps you are working in a company and are thinking I could do that better, or if only we had something that could do this then life would be so much easier. Perhaps you are a cyber security professional and are thinking that you could make improvements to the toolsets you are using. Perhaps you have started your business already and could do with some help and support.

If you have answered yes to any of these questions then Building a Cyber Security Business is for you. In this interactive workshop we will look at four areas that you may need to consider for your business, product or service.

Workshop 1 – Raising finance – Jane Siddle, Investment Executive at NEL Fund Managers Ltd. – how funding works and enables businesses to accelerate their growth potential.

Workshop 2 – Finding the right people – Hannah Williams, Robinson Williams Recruitment – understanding overall business aims and objectives to help create a recruitment strategy to best align the company vision.

Workshop 3 – Trading abroad – Peter Thompson, Department for International Trade – how to gear up to trade internationally.

Workshop 4 – Competitive tendering – Simon Hanson, Economic and Policy Development Manager at NEPO – helping businesses to achieve their ambitions by winning more procurement contracts and ensuring local communities can thrive by delivering social value through procurement opportunities.

Each interactive workshop will last half an hour with plenty of opportunity for questions and discussion so be prepared to get engaged.

The North East needs more great ideas for new cyber security products and services. The market for cyber security is growing rapidly with new threats and opportunities arriving daily and there is plenty of scope for growth.

The event will be held on 21 September 2021 15:30 – 18:00 and is online only. Tickets are free and available from here.

I hope to see you there!
