Well there you go. I’ve made it to the end. It doesn’t matter what I write really. It’s like a scuffed goal in football, they all count and if they get you across the line then all the better.
Zucchini, we call them courgettes. I have no idea why the same fruit has different names. It turns out it is a long story. Yes, I know it looks like a vegetable but then so does a tomato. They are members of the squash family and Italian for a squash is zuccho and French for a squash is courge. The ‘ini’ and ‘ette’ are diminutives. So know I do know.
Zucchini green, but they can be stripy for even yellow. The longest one ever gown was over 2.5 metres.
They’re lovely grilled or fried in butter with some onions. I think they have a pleasant and slightly milky taste.
