It’s cold outside. The mercury has dropped to five below. There is ice on the windscreen. It may even snow today.
I think it used to be called winter.
I’ve been keeping an eye on the news and I’m up to date with all of the weather warnings. I’ve followed all of the advice and packed my car with shovels, spare layers of clothing, a warning triangle and even a flask of tea. I’ve stopped short at the crampons.
I’ve stocked up at the shops, tinned soups, Bovril and high energy biscuits. I’ve even bought some candles as you never know.
It’s cold outside but I’m alright. I’ve listened to my nanny.
I think it used to be called common sense.
